Wave Perm in Brooklyn
U&K Salon offers partial and full wave perms exclusively for short hair in Brooklyn near Park Slope and Gowanus. We create waves and curls using a cold-perm process, tailoring the shape to your haircut, hair texture, and styling goals. Medium-length and long hair are not eligible for this service. Our stylists assess your hair condition and previous chemical treatments before recommending a personalized plan.
Services & Starting Prices
Partial Wave Perm — $200+
Full Wave Perm — $250+
Partial Wave Perm focuses on selected areas, while Full Wave Perm creates movement across more of the head. Both services are available for short hair only.
Prices marked “+” are starting prices. Please confirm hair-length eligibility, stylist availability, appointment length, and the final price before booking. A haircut must be booked separately unless it is explicitly included in your selected appointment.
What to Expect
We begin by discussing the wave or curl you want, where you want movement, and your current haircut. Your stylist checks your hair condition and color history, then explains the proposed placement and realistic result. The perm is carried out according to that plan, followed by finishing and guidance on home care and styling. If your desired cut is part of the plan, mention both services before the appointment.
Who It's For
A wave perm may suit short-haired clients seeking added movement, shape, or a change from a straighter finish. A partial perm may be enough for selected areas, while a full service can create movement more broadly. Straight, thick, fine, and Asian hair can behave differently; the same process does not create an identical result on everyone.
Professional Advice
Your hair needs sufficient length to create the desired wave or curl pattern, but this service is intended for short hair only. Reference photos may not reflect your natural hair texture or density.
Color-treated hair may be suitable depending on its condition and chemical history. However, we generally do not perform perms on bleached hair due to the increased risk of damage and breakage.
Please disclose all previous chemical treatments before booking. Daily styling and home care also affect the finished result, and a perm does not guarantee that your hair will look exactly like a reference photo.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between partial and full? Partial focuses on selected sections. Full covers more of the head. Your goal and haircut help determine the right choice.
Can I get a perm on colored or bleached hair? Perms may be possible on color-treated hair, depending on its condition and chemical history. However, we generally do not perform perms on bleached hair due to the increased risk of damage and breakage. Please inform your stylist of any previous color or chemical treatments before booking.
Do I need a haircut at the same visit? The haircut and perm shape should work together. Mention both when booking so we can plan the appointment and confirm the services needed.
How long does a perm last? It varies with the hair, pattern, growth, and care. Your stylist can discuss expectations and maintenance for your plan.
