Services & Starting Prices
Single Process Roots Touch-Up — $150+
Single Process Color — $200+
Hair Gloss — $140+
A roots touch-up focuses on new growth. Single Process Color works beyond the roots for an all-over color service. Hair Gloss helps refresh existing color, refine tone, and enhance shine without significantly lightening the hair.
Prices marked “+” are starting prices; the final plan and price depend on your hair condition and the work required. Please confirm service inclusions and appointment length in the current booking menu.
Single Process or Double Process?
Single process uses one color process. A double process involves lightening followed by toner or color. If your goal needs substantial lightening, particularly on previously colored hair, a single process may not be the right appointment. See Double Process Color & Gloss for the differences.
What Is Hair Gloss?
Hair Gloss is a great option for clients who want to refresh their existing hair color without a full color change. It can enhance shine, refine warm or cool tones, and help maintain a polished finish between color appointments.
Unlike Single Process Color, which can provide more substantial color changes or gray coverage, Hair Gloss primarily focuses on tone and shine. The result depends on your existing hair color, previous treatments, and desired finish.
What to Expect
We start with your desired shade, previous color, and any areas you want to cover or refresh. Your stylist checks the roots, lengths, and condition, then discusses the recommended application and expected result. After color processing and rinsing, the hair is finished and styled, and we discuss care and future maintenance. Tell us about home color, bleach, or other chemical services before the appointment.
Who It's For
A roots touch-up can suit clients maintaining a shade as new growth appears or seeking gray coverage. An all-over single process may suit clients refreshing color through more of the hair. We work with different textures, but the starting shade and previous color are as important as whether hair is fine, thick, straight, wavy, curly, or Asian.
Professional Advice
Existing artificial color can limit how light another color application can take the hair. A photo helps communicate the shade you want, but lighting and editing can make reference colors misleading. We will discuss a realistic plan, including whether a different service is needed. Hair Color at U&K includes natural-looking shades and more noticeable changes where appropriate; it is not limited to natural color.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you offer gray coverage? Yes. A roots touch-up can be used to cover gray new growth while maintaining a chosen shade.
Should I book roots or all-over color? Roots is for new growth. If the lengths also need changing, tell us so we can choose the appropriate service.
Can single process make dark hair very light? It depends on the starting color and history. Significant lightening may require double process, highlights, or more than one visit.
How often should I return? This depends on visible regrowth, your chosen shade, gray coverage needs, and maintenance preferences. Your stylist can suggest an interval.
Can I book Hair Gloss without another color service? Yes. Hair Gloss is available as a standalone service. It can help refresh tone and shine between color appointments, but it does not significantly lighten hair or provide the same gray coverage as permanent color.
